How ScreenCloud helped Smoky Boys to attract more customers to their pop-up restaurant using digital signage.

Smoky Boys is a BBQ grill house restaurant concept using the finest ingredients to create burgers, grilled chicken and all types of American diner food. For their pop-up store in Boxpark Wembley, where they reside amongst 20 other food vendors, they needed a digital signage solution that would help them to stand out.

Initial digital signage aims:

  • To stand out within a crowded marketplace
  • A digital signage setup that didn't require specialist hardware
  • To be able to manage the creation of content independently

Here, we speak to Karim Salah, Owner at Smoky Boys Boxpark Wembley, on his experience using ScreenCloud for restaurant digital signage.

Digital signage journey

I came across ScreenCloud when I was opening the new Smoky Boys site and I wanted to look at digital signage. We knew we were opening in Boxpark Wembley, where there are 20 other units and we wanted to be a bit more eye-catching. We were also thinking about event days where we wanted to update the menus on the fly and do promos and use different imagery.

Digital signage used

Other digital signage vendors were pushing bespoke hardware in the hundreds to the thousands of pounds, whereas with ScreenCloud all I needed was the software and an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Results using ScreenCloud

The screens have been very effective, I can see customers being drawn to them as they come into the unit.

ScreenCloud is charged on a monthly rolling basis and compared to other companies I looked into they’re one of the cheapest.
